Vertical-lift skylights feature window sashes that lift vertically to remain parallel to the roof surface; the entire sash rises suspended in the air without any sliding or outward-tilting motion. Driven by high-power electric actuators, they are commonly used in basement light wells, commercial buildings, factory fire smoke exhaust systems, patio roofs, and outdoor courtyard canopies.

The profiles feature multi-layer water-blocking baffles and perimeter drainage channels; when the sash is raised, a gap is created, and when closed, the entire frame presses against the EPDM rubber gasket to ensure a seal.
Common causes of water leakage include: leaves clogging the drainage channels; the four push rods moving out of sync, causing the sash to tilt and fail to press tightly against the gasket; and cracks in the roof waterproofing at the edge.
Clear the drainage channels, calibrate the synchronized travel of the multiple push rods, and redo the roof waterproofing at the edge.
When connected to an external rain and wind sensor, the system automatically shuts off when a rain signal is detected; temperature sensors and smoke detectors can also be installed to trigger the system’s activation in conjunction with the factory’s fire suppression and smoke exhaust systems.
The electric linear actuator has a cycle life of 40,000 cycles;
Motor components are covered by a 2-year warranty, and the aluminum alloy frame is covered by a 10-year warranty;
1. Leaves and dust have accumulated in the extruded drainage channels, causing the drainage outlets to become clogged;
2. The EPDM weatherstripping has deteriorated, resulting in uneven compression gaps;
3. The waterproof sealant at the junction between the window frame and the roof has cracked.
Solution: Clear the drainage channels, replace the weatherstripping, and redo the waterproofing at the roof junction.
