We created a functional, elegant outdoor sunroom for a private residence on the U.S. East Coast. This hurricane-prone region combines sunny summers with intense rainfall, demanding superior durability and weather resilience.
Client Requirements
The client wanted a lightweight, hurricane & waterproof retreat for family gatherings. It had to fit within the existing patio space, blend seamlessly with the courtyard, and provide unobstructed views.
Environmental Challenges
Located on the east side of the courtyard, the structure needed to integrate with the landscape while delivering ultra-stable performance. The area experiences 3-4 hurricane/tropical storm events annually, with frequent summer downpours. Key design goals:
